Onimusha: Way of the Sword — All Outfits and How to Unlock Them

This page collects every outfit and cosmetic unlock documented for Onimusha: Way of the Sword — story rewards, side-content milestones, edition and DLC packs — and where you equip them. Where do you change outfits?

“You can change outfits by selecting Change Appearance from the Spirit Mirror menu in-game” — Capcom’s official note, quoted on our MHR collab page. Two practical caveats from the same note: outfits are cosmetic only (“they do not alter the character’s performance in battle”), and Change Appearance unlocks separately from the mirrors themselves as the story progresses.

One disambiguation before the lists: IGN also uses “Clothing” for a gear enhancement category — the clothing levels that Fine Silk Cloths max out for the Dressed to Kill trophy (see the upgrade materials guide). That system is separate from the cosmetic Clothing below.

Musashi’s sword skins

The Lion Dog ladder is two-source in practice: IGN’s conditions match the sword-skin milestones in PowerPyx’s data on our Lion Dog locations page. The four paid sword appearances (Bamboo & Panda, Enryuu, Raizan, Whittled Oar) live in the Deluxe Kit, listed below.

Musashi’s haori coats

The two Carnage-tier haori are New Game+ content by definition — Carnage only unlocks after a first completion, as the difficulty settings page explains. Three more haori (Cloudbiter, Hellfire, Moonlight) are Premium Kit items, below.

Editions and paid DLC outfits

Steam’s package data itemizes the digital editions exactly (read September 18, 2026; each of the 19 kit contents is also sold as its own standalone $19.99 DLC, while the combined Premium Deluxe Kit bundle runs $29.99):

The Deluxe Edition ($79.99) and Premium Deluxe Edition ($89.99) of the game include the matching kits; standard-edition buyers can add any of the three kits afterwards. Note that IGN attributes the edition swords and some haori differently — this page follows Steam’s package data, where the four swords sit in the Deluxe Kit and the Premium Kit holds no swords at all.

Steam’s DLC descriptions also confirm outfits are per-character — each names its wearer (“A gallant outfit for Miyamoto Musashi”, “for the Oni Lady that supports Miyamoto Musashi”, “for Izumo no Okuni”). In published sources, the Oni Lady and Okuni have no in-game-unlockable outfits: their sets exist only as DLC.

The free DLC outfits

Two outfit DLCs are free downloads, both released September 6, 2026: Outfit for the Oni Lady: Hinoa and Outfit for Okuni: Yomogi’s Dance — the Monster Hunter Rise collaboration items. Download, claim at a Spirit Mirror, equip via Change Appearance: the full walkthrough is on the MHR collab page. A free Materials Pack: Red Souls I shipped alongside the launch DLC wave but contains no cosmetics.

The Early Adopter Bonus, itemized

The pre-order bonus became an Early Adopter Bonus available to all buyers until September 25, 2026, 4:59 PM PDT (Capcom’s July 2 announcement — IGN prints September 24, a discrepancy this page resolves in Capcom’s favor). Three sources itemize its contents identically:

• Sealed Curse — a sword appearance for Musashi (hence its place in the sword-skin table above)
• Lion Dog charm — a charm item

Those are the only verified items; no source lists anything else in the bonus. Separately, playing the pre-launch demo granted a Kubi Akari charm. The pre-order and editions page carries the full edition breakdown.

How complete is this list?

Honesty notes: IGN’s page — the only in-game source — is a self-declared work in progress, and no source has published a total outfit count. The lists above are “every unlock documented as of September 14, 2026 (IGN) and September 18, 2026 (Steam)”, not a promise of completeness. One more cosmetic exists beyond this page’s scope: beating every Boss Rematch opponent on Carnage unlocks what IGN calls “the final costume” — that story is told on the New Game+ and post-game page.
