Onimusha: Way of the Sword — Walkthrough Hub
Stage-by-stage Way of the Sword walkthrough hub: every act, every major encounter, and links to dedicated boss and mechanic guides as they're added.
FAQ
How long is Way of the Sword?
Can you save mid-stage?
Is there a New Game+?
This is the walkthrough hub for Onimusha: Way of the Sword. As the wiki fills out post-launch, this page will list every act walkthrough with stage summaries, key encounters, and links to dedicated boss and mechanic guides. Right now it collects the pre-launch guide to the act structure and what to expect in each block.
Act structure
Capcom has confirmed Way of the Sword is structured across multiple acts, each taking place in a different district of Edo-period Kyoto. The acts escalate in difficulty and unlock new Oni Armaments, new Oni Vision upgrades, and new enemy archetypes. Save points are positioned at Oni Gate shrines, which also serve as fast-travel nodes between acts.
How to use this hub
- Before you start, read the Issen & Break Issen guide — combat in this game is built around the parry system, and understanding the timing windows before your first boss will save you many attempts.
- For farming routes, see the soul farming guide. Red, yellow, and blue souls all matter, and the routes that pay off change as you progress.
- For bosses, the boss list catalogs every named encounter. The Sasaki Kojiro guide covers the late-game rival in detail.
- For side content, the Lady Murasaki side-mission guide collects every recurring side quest.
Verified mechanics (pre-launch)
These are confirmed by Capcom and pre-release coverage:
- Break Issen parry — drains enemy stamina, enables execution by dismemberment.
- Oni Armaments — heavy-damage weapons fueled by blue souls, available as consumables.
- Oni Vision — utility ability that reveals all demons in the area.
- Soul economy — red (upgrades), yellow (healing), blue (magic / Oni Armaments).
- Oni Portals — optional content tied to Shizuka, the spirit in Musashi’s gauntlet.
What we don’t know yet
- Full act-by-act boss roster (Capcom has teased names but not the full list).
- New Game+ confirmation.
- Whether all five samurai-warrior archetypes mentioned in previews will be playable.
Post-launch, this hub will expand into per-act pages and dedicated boss guides. For everything else in the meantime, see the release info and the series overview.
